چکیده

High Performance Routing (HPR) is an enhancement to IBM’s Advanced Peer to Peer Networking (APPN) protocol that improves its performance and reliability. In an HPR network, the Rapid Transport Protocol (RTP) is used for end-to-end data transfer. RTP provides a reliable, in-order delivery service using a selective repeat protocol as the end-to-end error recovery mechanism. Additionally, RTP provides an end-to-end, Adaptive RateBased (ARB) flow/congestion control mechanism that is designed to avoid congestion and maximize network stability. This paper describes the ARB algorithm. Simulation results are presented illustrating the behavior and the stability of the algorithm.

Congestion Control Approaches Applied to Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a specific category of wireless ad-hoc networks where their performance is highly affected by application, life time, storage capacity, processing power, topology changes, the communication medium and bandwidth. These limitations necessitate an effective data transport control in WSNs considering quality of service, energy efficiency, and congestion control. ...

Improvement of the mechanism of congestion avoidance in mobile networks

Mobile ad hoc network congestion control is a significant problem. Standard mechanism for congestion control (TCP), the ability to run certain features of a wireless network, several mutations are not common. In particular, the enormous changes in the network topology and the joint nature of the wireless network. It also creates significant challenges in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), density ...

N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)retinamide elevates ceramide in neuroblastoma cell lines by coordinate activation of serine palmitoyltransferase and ceramide synthase.

The retinoid N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)retinamide (4-HPR; fenretinide) is cytotoxic to a variety of cancer cell lines, and we previously showed an association between ceramide generation and 4-HPR cytotoxicity for neuroblastoma cell lines (B. J. Maurer et al., J. Natl. Cancer Inst. (Bethesda), 91: 1138-1146, 1999). Here we determine whether the increased ceramide mediated by 4-HPR in the CHLA-90 human...

Spatial and temporal organization of the E. coli PTS components.

The phosphotransferase system (PTS) controls preferential use of sugars in bacteria. It comprises of two general proteins, enzyme I (EI) and HPr, and various sugar-specific permeases. Using fluorescence microscopy, we show here that EI and HPr localize near the Escherichia coli cell poles. Polar localization of each protein occurs independently, but HPr is released from the poles in an EI- and ...

Effect of HPr phosphorylation on structure, dynamics, and interactions in the course of transcriptional control.

The serine46-phosphorylated form of the bacterial protein HPr fulfils an essential function in carbon catabolite repression (CCR). Using molecular dynamics (MD) we studied the effect of Ser46 phosphorylation on the molecular properties of HPr and its capability to act as the co-repressor of carbon catabolite protein A (CcpA). The calculated pK (a) values for a representative set of HPr(Ser46P) ...
